Tervigon Conversion

So in my attempt to create a Tervigon (1 of 2 that I will be making) I've decided to go a different way, I've looked at the pic in the codex a LOT. and from what I can tell, the only reason that the pic has Scything Tallons is because it's one of the options available to the Tervigon, not because they all have them.

So i went a different route. With a bit of hack and slash, I've managed to get my carnifex to lay down and use his front claws as another set of feet.

I used the chopped down crushing claws because I think that they would be a lot more stable to walk on than Scything Tallons.

I still need to do quite a bit of GSing, and add the "Brood Sac" from the Stranglethorn Cannon, but She's getting there.

Here are some more pics:

Any thoughts/ criticisms are gladly welcomed.

Thanks - Stephen

  1. Nice job!

I really like the look of using regular carni legs over the talons.

The talons, while cool, makes it look too spidery and so different than most nid models IMO.

Can't wait to see the next step in your conversion and then the finished painted model.

  2. Like the forward positioning of the body. Looks like he is scuttling along or carrying a lot of weight. can't wait to see the brood sac.

  3. I agree with Eldaraddict in his brooding appearance. I'm not a huge fan of the 2nd set of carni legs though. Conceptually, it works really well, but seeing two identical legs next to each other like that--in the same position no less--doesn't look great to me. Granted, hacking them up would mean quite a bit of work, as would sculpting new ones entirely from GS, but I think it'd be worth it.

The underside and front shots look awesome though.

  4. I have to agree to the static lookin legs WH3999, And in the next one, the feet and legs will be altered a bit to better stand out.

    Thanks.
